The club was started as a special interest group of the Association of Retired Persons and over 50's (now defunct). The ski group, which was thriving, was formally constituted as a Club in 2007as The ARP050 Ski Club, and continues with its purpose of organising holidays for its members.
The ARP050 Ski Club was set up as a non-profit organisation to enable those of senior years to continue skiing by bringing together other active like-minded people over 50 who enjoy this sport.
We do not provide lessons or guiding.
We hold a general members meeting once every 2 years (a Biennial General Meeting – BGM) which is also a social occasion.
We have a Data Protection Policy in accordance with the General Data Protection Rules 2018, details of which will be provided on joining.
There are many 'over fifties' who skied in their earlier years, often as couples or with groups of friends, who now find that due to the infirmity of one partner, the loss of ski friends, or other reasons, are now unable to continue. Skiing alone is not to be recommended.
This club provides the opportunity to enjoy skiing again, in an atmosphere of friendship and companionship.
